Release notes for FlickrExport for Aperture
Please note: all issues noted below apply to both the full and lite versions of FlickrExport for Aperture, unless preceeded by [FULL] or [LITE] respectively.
FlickrExport for Aperture 1.0.9 (2008-04-07)
Bug Fixes
- Fixes a potential crash when going through certain proxy servers.
FlickrExport for Aperture 1.0.8 (2008-02-25)
Features
- [FULL] Provides a workaround for the problem of Aperture 2 aborting edits when file names conflict. Learn more about this problem in the following Knowledge Base article: Aperture 2 File Name Conflicts
FlickrExport for Aperture 1.0.7 (2008-02-15)
Features
- [FULL] Added a preference to pick up the Lens Model field in Aperture 2 as a Flickr tag. This requires Aperture 2, it requires that the image be using RAW 2.0 decoding and it requires that your camera write that information into the EXIF.
FlickrExport and FlickrExport Lite for Aperture 1.0.6 (2007-08-02)
Features
- Added a button to the registration sheet that takes you to a web page where you can retrive your serial number.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a number of memory leaks.
FlickrExport and FlickrExport Lite for Aperture 1.0.5 (2007-06-18)
Features
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a problem with our HTTP 1.1 compliance that caused users on the Sinaporean ISP SingNet to have connections stall when uploading. SingNet are using an obscure Korean proxy device that took a, shall we say, strict interpretation of the HTTP spec.
FlickrExport and FlickrExport Lite for Aperture 1.0.4 (2007-05-06)
Features
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug which could cause FlickrExport to hang at some point in exporting, usually after the last photo was completed. The bug was in the handling of NSUndoManager when editing fields in a certain order. FlickrExport would log a message to the effect that "_NSUndoStack is in invalid state". [154]
Features
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug introduced in 1.0.2 in which Aperture keywords with spaces would be wrapped incorrectly in quotes.
Note: This is the first release in which the product formerly known as the "Flickr Plugin for Aperture 1.0" has been renamed FlickrExport Lite and brought to bug-fix parity with FlickrExport for Aperture 1.0.2.
Features
- FlickrExport now provides controls to set the moderation level on uploaded images. [188]
Bug Fixes
- FlickrExport now disables the Add to Pool checkbox if the logged in account is not a member of any group.
- Fixed a bug in which Aperture keywords which were wrapped in quotes would have additional quotes added by FlickrExport. This broke the formatting of tags on Flickr.
- FlickrExport now shows the login progress sheet when logging back in after a logout.
- [LITE] All appropriate bug fixes in previous versions of FlickrExport for Aperture 1.0.2 have been folded into the new FlickrExport Lite for Aperture 1.0.2.
FlickrExport for Aperture 1.0.1 (2007-03-16)
Features
- FlickrExport now hides the bandwidth status indicators for Flickr Pro users. [186]
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a problem with Flickr photo and ticket IDs which could cause FlickrExport to never finish an upload with large numbers of photos. This was a result of generating URLs longer than Flickr's Apache could handle, causing Flickr to send back 414 error pages. [183].
- Fixed a problem which caused the image thumbnails to be distorted in the thumbnail list and the image viewer. [185].
FlickrExport for Aperture 1.0 (2006-12-08)
Features
- The installer now supports installation for all users of the machine in /Library/ [150]
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a problem which could cause Aperture to crash when cancelling the "demo expired" sheet [161].
FlickrExport for Aperture 1.0b6 (2006-11-30)
Features
- FlickrExport for Aperture 1.0b6 now requires Aperture 1.5.1
- Added a preference which allows FlickrExport to use the full Aperure keyword hierarchy as Flickr tags [165].
- Reorganised preferences sheet to be clearer.
Bug Fixes
- FlickrExport for Aperture is now more efficient at loading image thumbnails [164].
- Fixed a bug which could cause Aperture to crash when cancelling an attempt to enter a serial number [168].
Features
- Implemented a preference to use Version Name instead of IPTC Headline to fill in the Flickr Title field. The default is to use IPTC Headline, but the setting can be changed in FlickrExport's Preferences. [142]
Bug Fixes
- Contains an experimental bug-fix for a problem in which the NSUndoManager's undo stack could become corrupted.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a problem that could cause Aperture to crash when replacing a photo that no longer exists on Flickr. Now, the upload will still happen and then fail, but it won't crash Aperture. [144]
- Fixed a bug that caused images which have been re-ordered to be uploaded with incorrect metadata. [156]
- FlickrExport no longer attempts to save any metadata when replacing a photo. This fixes a problem in b3 where a photo's title, description and tags would be replaced with values from Aperture. [149]
- Worked around a bug in Aperture 1.5.0 which caused the sign of a photo's Longitude to be flipped. [157]
- Updated project to use release version of Aperture SDK. [159]
- Extened expiry for b4 to 1200h on 2006-12-20. [160]
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an incompatibility with new Flickr API that could cause large photosets to be truncated when adding photos with FlickrExport. [147]
- Fixed a bug that caused Aperture to crash if the user cancelled the upload. [145]
Known Issues
- Attempting to replace a photo which has been deleted on Flickr can cause Aperture to crash. [144]
- There is a small window of opportunity after FlickrExport is opened in which cancelling FlickrExport will cause Aperture to crash. [139]
- Uploads through an authenticating proxy will likely fail.
- Some known memory leaks.
- There is a bug in Aperture 1.5 which causes the sign to be inverted for longitude when photos with GPS data in their EXIF headers are passed to export plug-ins. Such photos will appear correct in the Aperture metadata panel, but be incorrect when they arrive in an export plugin. This has the effect of reflecting the longitude around the Greenwich meridian. The only work around is to manually change the signs in FlickrExport, and they will be passed correctly to Flickr.
Features
- Added a Google Earth button beside the geolocation fields. If Google Earth 4 (v4 is required) is open, FlickrExport will fill the latitude and longitude fields with the centre point in the Google Earth window. [140]
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug preventing the correct IPTC fields from being used for Title and Description. Title will be filled with the IPTC Headline field and Description with the IPTC Caption field. [141]
- Fixed a crash when trying to export an unsupported image (e.g. a RAW file that Aperture doesn't recognise). [135]
- Fixed a problem in which the preference for uploading or replacing images by default was not being retained. [136]
- Fixed the Regular Expression filtering of tags, which was broken in b1. [138]
- Fixed a bug in which the iPhoto icon would be shown in Growl notifications instead of the Aperture icon. [137]
- The Purchase Now button is disabled until serial numbers can actually be purchased.
Known Issues
- There is a small window of opportunity after FlickrExport is opened in which cancelling FlickrExport will cause Aperture to crash. [139]
- Uploads through an authenticating proxy will likely fail.
- Some known memory leaks.
