Aperture 2 Shows No Export Progress

This issue has been resolved in Aperture 2.0.1 which can be installed from Software Update or by download from Apple.com

In Aperture 2, Apple reworked the export mechanism to operate in the background, rather than displaying a progress sheet. This also applies to export plugins like FlickrExport.

Symptoms

Upon clicking Export, the FlickrExport window is closed and no progress sheet is presented. This part is by design: export progress should be visible in the Activity window (Window menu > Show Activity), but it is not.

The export to Flickr will continue as before, but no progress will be visible. Additionally, it will not be possible to cancel FlickrExport's operation.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in Aperture 2.0.1.

There is no workaround at this time. This problem needs to be fixed by a future Aperture update. To see some indication of progress open Activity Monitor, select the Network tab and observe FlickrExport producing spikes in the "Data Sent" trace (by default, the red line in the graph).
