Don’t Just Focus on the Page Rank
There are people who are still somewhat at a loss as to how they should use Search Engine Optimization (SEO) as a business strategy to boost profit. For some, seeing their website at prime search engine positions is the only acceptable business strategy, while others still don’t see how SEO plays a part in the marketing of their product or service. I wrote an
essay∞ back when I was taking computer science in college that gives business people an overview of SEO’s increasing role in the success of a business.
The
page rank or the organic page result∞ of a website is unquestionably important for a business that desires high traffic. If, however, the company places too much effort in getting premium page rank without developing the other components of the website, then sales, or at the very least interest in the company’s products or services, will be lost. At the end of the day, companies want to see the investment they’ve put in creating their website yield a positive return.
The time a company spends in identifying target keywords and concentrating on SEO should be the same as when
it develops the graphic design∞ and other programming elements of its site. Many companies have lost their competitive edge or have gone bankrupt, because they failed in one or in both areas. For a business to succeed online, it must balance its effort in winning the attention of search engine spiders and online readers.
